Advanced Airborne Network | AAN

Coherent Systems’ Airborne Advanced Network (AAN) program is designed to demonstrate a key component of the DoD’s Battle Force Network design. The Advanced Airborne Network program is intended to address the need for high data-rate, low latency, platform-to-platform communications to counter current and future threats.

The Advanced Airborne Network is designed to mitigate limitations of current networks and datalinks particularly in updated transmission protocol, message latency and format, network access, and reconfiguration.

Envisioned to be a militarized version of the IEEE 802.3 network protocol optimized for airborne missions, the Coherent Systems Airborne Advanced Network will provide high-bandwidth LOS (initial) and BLOS (final) targeting and communications enhancements for USAF, USN, USMC , USA , and SOF airborne and ground based platforms.

Additional benefits of Coherent Systems Airborne Advanced Network include:

  • Reduction in the Dynamic Targeting kill chain timeline
  • Improved current LINK-16 path data capability
  • Increased combat controller SA
  • Increased targeting compatibility across multi-service users
  • Ability to integrate with Ground Mobile Gateway
