General
Description:
Perform
skilled CNC Machining work in the fabrication, assembly,
maintenance, and repair of a variety of metal parts and tools.
Must employ a high degree of accuracy and precision in
performing work according to instructions and specifications.
Assignments are received in the form of oral instructions,
penciled layouts, blueprints, sketches, and by reference to
discrepant parts. Work methods and procedures are determined by
the employee, but the work is subject to quality audit and
inspection during process and upon completion for conformity
with the requirements.
EXAMPLES OF
TASKS - (This list contains tasks that are typically associated
with the job. It is not all-inclusive and may vary from position
to position)
-
builds, fabricates, or repairs
aerospace components, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles
from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings
-
modifies and adjusts metal parts
for special projects.
-
fabricates,
maintains, and repairs metal objects through the operation of
lathes, milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and
similar equipment;
-
measures work
carefully by using precision tools such as a micrometer, height
gage, bore gage, and etc.
-
uses,
adjusts, cleans, and stores the tools, machinery, and equipment
of the machinist's trade;
-
demonstrates
continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround
times, streamline work processes, maintain tool crib, and work
cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer
service.

principles, theories, and
practices of metal properties and their tool penetration

help
determine cost effective methods of correcting discrepant parts

run Fadal or
other like CNC Mills

Education
Requirements:
One year of experience as a skilled CNC machinist and completion
of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program, and three
years of experience as a skilled manual machinist. Other
combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum
requirements may be substituted
Security:
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a U.S.
DoD classified (SECRET) security clearance. |
