Coherent System's RF Radio
Frequency Spectrum Monitoring System is called
T-REX CS-2018 an acronym for True RF Environment eXtractor.
T-REX is a free space Spectrum Monitoring System (SMS) that accurately monitors and analyzes the RF spectrum for 20 MHz to 18 GHz.
The True RF Environment EXtractor System (T-REX) is a portable radio
frequency RF signal collection system from Coherent Systems It provides real-time, High Probability of Intercept (HPOI), signal interception and recording capabilities supporting important SIGINT, military EW testing and tactical ESM requirements. The T-REX system is the perfect radio
frequency spectrum monitoring system for real-time EOB, EMCON Compliance, RF test verification, general signal collection and characterization.
This RF system is currently being used to verify and confirm emitter characteristics and the RF spectrum during EW testing in the ACETEF facility at
NAS
Patuxent
River
. The T-REX system provides a real-time, HPOI, free-space and injected monitoring capability for both test threat emitters and aircraft ECM response.
As an RF Truth Data Source for Electronic
warfare testing in NAVAIR's Air Combat Environmental Test and
Evaluation Facility (ACETEF) the T-REX provides:
- 0.5-18 GHz Instantaneous Wide Band Monitoring
- Full Function Narrow Band Analysis Modes
- Low Band Scanning and Analysis Capability
- Automatic Emitter Detect, Classification and Analysis Capability
- Integrated Antenna Suite for Full 360 Deg. Environment Coverage
The T-REX RF Spectrum Monitoring System combines:
- Wide band IFM
- Narrowband Tuner
- Low band receiver
Plus
Up to three Set-On Receivers All three bands can acquire and characterize emitters simultaneously. To meet POI and DF requirements the system offers several antenna options. The T-REX collection system is a Windows based systems. The user workstation provides a toolset to perform detailed signal analysis, precision amplitude, DF measurements and frequency histograms. From high level track information to low level pulse to pulse information.
The user has three 19” LCD screens for managing the system. Two screens for displaying the RF environment and one screen for management of the system.
The T-Rex is capable of performing automated calibration to take into account cable loss. The user supplies the commands for the signal source.
The T-REX hardware is highly portable via small truck or van contained in two 21U racks and the cabling, monitors, keyboards, and antennas have transportable cases. The portability makes the system ideal for field work and in a laboratory environment.
